T'was the Positek Night Before Christmas...

In this re-written version of the well know poem 'T'was the night before Christmas, it tells of a variety of sensors and their uses for all things Christmas: including some used by Santa.

It's nearly Christmas, and although it's been a long and surprising year there's always room for some fun. We bring you our take on the popular traditional Christmas poem, enjoy!

T'was the night before Christmas and sensors are working,

Even at this time, there will be no shirking.

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,

No sensors needed here, but what about out there?

In the fairground the sensors were functioning fine,

The carousel was turning, the lights brightly shine.

Up and down, up and down the horses went,

Stopping wherever they had been sent.

The paper mill never stops working all year,

But what kind of sensors do they use in here?

To measure the thickness of each sheet they make,

A non-contact linear type, that won't ever break.

Those presents all gift-wrapped and under the tree,

wouldn't be there without a sensor or three.

Festive designs adorn wrapping paper,

Kept straight by sensors, on this sheet no taper.

In fabric mills all across this great land,

The same technology still lends a hand.

Consistency of product is vital, you see,

So sensors are needed to make this easy.

Last minute shoppers dash through the mall,

But what about sensors that help them all?

Lifts, escalators and even swing doors,

All use our sensors to know when to pause.

People are travelling home for the season,

A comfortable train journey is within reason.

Suspension sensors control the ride height,

for a smooth, easy passage through the cold night.

Those who are driving are thankful for brakes,

Sensor controlled servos apply without shakes.

Even if somehow this Christmas it snows,

4x4 sensors are how the car knows.

We sit down to dinner, the table is groaning,

The roasties are crispy, there'll be no moaning.

Positional sensors help harvest the crop,

When you've finished eating, you're ready to drop.

Does Santa make use of a sensor or two?

He might need a check on the sleigh height, it's true.

Loading it up puts a strain on suspension,

And well, his own weight deserves a small mention.

His workshop was buzzing all through the year,

Production lines active to bring Christmas cheer.

His helpers are busy, everyone a team player,

The elves use a sensor on their big conveyor.

On Christmas day after a well-deserved rest,

We think you'll agree, non-contact is best.

Sturdy, reliable, we'll get it right,

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night.

Merry Christmas from all of us at Positek!
