The submersible position sensor range includes Linear, Rotary and Tilt sensors all available sealed to 350bar, 5000psi (3500MSW). We also offer a range of 10bar submersible linear sensors for less demanding applications.

As with every position sensor that we supply, our submersible position sensor solutions employ non-contact technology to ensure the highest levels of reliability, even when underwater. Every submersible sensor within our range therefore operates without wear to the sensing parts, and boasts an extremely low failure rate.

A submersible position sensor, much like any other displacement sensor use the same working principles to detect movement and transmit an output. Positek is a leading company that supplies a range of submersible sensors used in many marine and underwater applications.

Positek’s submersible position sensors are more accurate when compared to the other types of position sensors this is mainy down to the type of technology we use. At Positek we use our own unique technology in all of our sensors. Our technology is non-contacting, similar to that used in LVDTs and RVDTs but with fewer coils giving them better stroke to length ratios as well as higher accuracy.

They are also made of marine grade 316 stainless steel, which seals up to IP68 350 bar (3500MSW). This ensures that the product is durable enough to withstand harsh environments without compromising the sensing technology.
 

Submersible sensors require more stringent designs and materials considering the kind of environment they have to work in. There are more variables that could affect the reading and reliability is not just about the initial use, but also how long the accurate reading will last.

Just like all of our position sensor ranges, our submersible range also includes custom design options. Customisation focus on scaling the position sensor, however other kinds of changes can be made as well. Contact us to discuss your requirements with our team of engineers. We suggest that it will take a minimum of 2 days for a custom sensor to be produced.

Positek’s range of submersible position sensors operates using our own inductive technology ensuring robustness and durability. Ordinary stainless steel used in fabricating many standard sensors is not capable of withstanding the harsh chemical composition of seawater. As such, our submersible sensors are made using marine grade 316 stainless steel with hermetic sealing that complies with industry standards like IP68.

The unique fabrication and hermetic sealing of our range of submersible position sensors include rotary, linear, and tilt models with 350bar sealing able to work in submerged conditions subject to pressures of up to 5000psi. If the application is less demanding but still require extended exposure to moisture, we also have submersible sensors with 10bar sealing.

The non-contact technology of our sensors guarantees durability, reliability, and infinite repeatability due to the non-wear features of the parts. The overall acquisition cost of the assembly remains low because of a minimal need for replacements.
