A temperature probe is a type of temperature sensor, these have recently been added to our product range. Temperature probes are available as different types. And are used throughout many applications across a whole host of industries.

Temperature probes are available in different packages with different connection options. Some are placed onto the surface to measure temperature, or some can be screwed into a device, or immersed in liquid.

Types of Temperature Probes

The temperature probes we offer are available in two different types. These are separated by the type of sensing element.

NTC Temperature Probes (Negative Temperature Coefficient) temperature probes are manufactured from NTC thermistors. The thermistor is potted into the selected terminal head making them suitable for use in various applications. These are often low cost with a smaller temperature range but tend to offer a quick response and are highly sensitive.

RTD Temperature Probes (Resistance Temperature Detector) temperature probes, also known as Pt100 or Pt1000 temperature probes, are known for being highly accurate and more stable than other temperature probes. They offer high reliability and long life. They tend to be more costly than NTC alternatives, but they offer a wider temperature range.

Temperature probes are available as either standard configurations or bespoke, custom designs. The standard types are generally used in applications which are more common whereas bespoke temperature probes are selected for very specific applications.
